Packing for a trip can feel like a chore, but I really enjoyed pulling together my suitcase for the South of France. It felt like I finally had a chance to wear some of the special pieces I’ve been storing in my wardrobe, waiting for their time. What better opportunity than a road trip along the Cote D’Azur?
Looking back on my outfits, I realise they had a certain colour scheme and formula. Lots of green, red and cream, stripe accents and Broderie Anglaise, and easy silhouettes I could throw on over swimwear.
I never had one of those ‘WTF do I wear today’ moments, but with 27k of packed luggage that was intentional (shoutout to Matt for all the heavy lifting up spiral staircases.) There are lots of things I didn’t even get a chance to wear! Oh well, we’ll have to go back.
But everything mixed and matched well, and when I was posting looks to my IG feed, they all felt cohesive against the pastel alleyways, lavender fields and gelato tones the region is known for. There’s a lot of fun to be had in theme-dressing for your destination. Why not?!
What I wore.

What I browsed.
I did a lot of browsing but not much shopping. For one, the dollar was terrible against the Euro so I had to really consider my purchases, and most of the destinations were offering bright resortwear for high summer - which would serve me well for the holiday but not so much for daily life.
I loved seeing what was in the chic little French boutiques - not so much the designers (although it was fun window-shopping at Miu Miu and Loewe in St Tropez) but the cool-girl shops that might be akin to a Tuchuzy or Stylerunner, offering cult local brands and pieces you can’t get elsewhere.

What I bought.

Let me know if you have any questions about the trip. I’ll try to share my holiday tips and recommendations soon - including thoughts on travelling with a toddler. That’s a whole other story…
Until next time. Resisting the urge to sign off pretentiously in French.
Txx
I loved following along and am very much here for themed holiday dressing. You NAILED it.
