Blake did a fantastic job of the press tour. The movie was awesome and the flower shop theme to her outfits worked really well. If people haven’t seen it already, it’s a must watch.
It was the wake up call my sister needed to finally leave a toxic relationship with an abusive partner.
An interesting point of view Tam, one that I’m inclined to agree with. I feel Blake has chosen to project positivity and lightness even though this job was an extremely difficult and challenging situation for her both personally and professionally.
This is an interesting take. As you said: fashion is another means of communication, an extension of the self. As I saw her press to looks floating around the Internet, I interpreted it as all, just an extension of the acting. It seemed like she was taking a note from her friend Taylor‘s Preference for styling her wardrobe for the era of the moment. In that way, I wonder if their wardrobes are extensions of their actual tastes and preferences or extensions of their performances. And that is a somewhat of an identity, but vocation isn’t a true identity that stands the test of time.
I started reading through the evidence timeline on Baldoni’s new vindication website and saw a lot of documentation about the issues with her taking over wardrobe and how personally she took the conversations about it. My thoughts on that are half-baked and maybe not even my place to state, but all of that tension over the wardrobe is interesting from a “fashion as communication” standpoint.

I love this theory! Distract from all the shit that she knew was due to come her way, through total theme dressing!
